I am so happy that it is spring! Flowers are blooming everywhere and that makes me happy. I have long wanted a cake dome. When I saw this small one at HomeGoods for just a few dollars I snapped it up. Eat me was the perfect saying for my etching!

The first step was to measure around the outside of the dome and figure out how big to make each segment of the stencil. I used my Silhouette Cameo to design and cut my stencil for this project. Apply the stencil and then tape off any areas that you don't want etched using masking tape.

Apply a generous coat of etchall® etching creme and let it sit for 15 minutes. Scrape the excess creme back into the jar and then rinse the remainder away. This project had three segments so I etched them one by one, then rinsed them all when I was done.

Before removing the stencils I used Silver Rub n Buff to add color to the etched area. I love adding color to my etching - I just think it makes it stand out so well!

Here is a better shot of the etching. Doesn't that look amazing? I am so happy with how this project turned out.
