Happy Easter Card - JFF Stamps

Good evening blogging friends!
Two posts in one day - now that doesn't happen very often!

Tonight I have my DT project for Just For Fun Stamps and this
week I have made an Easter Card.
My papers are Authentique and Core'dinations. I have used my nesties, Prima flowers,
Want 2 Scrap bling, Viva Decor Pearl Pen, Tsukineko inks, and I have colored my image
with Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils & PITT® Pastel Pencils.
The seam binding and brads are from my stash.

I have used Bunny Artist and Happy Easter stamps.

I am linking up at The Pink Elephant for their Anything Goes challenge

Thanks so much for flocking by!
May the Flamingos be with you

Adore You

Howdy fellow bloggers!
Have you had a great weekend - we have had such beautiful weather
here in Dallas, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it!

Today I want to share a layout I made with some of the new
Authentique papers I got from The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie.
This is my second project with these papers and I am just loving them!
I am so loving that floral pattern- I need more of it!
This fabulous piece of chipboard is from Dusty Attic. I painted it with Viva Decor 3-D Stamp paint, highlighted with Viva Gloss Gel pen, and added some sparkle with metallic embossing powder.
For my chipboard letters I used white acrylic paint and highlighted the edge with my Rose Metal Gelato® - I think that one is my favorite color! For the heart I used Gelatos® in Rose Metal and Gold.
The punch is Martha Stewart, flowers are Maya Road, stick pins are Maya Road and I have gussied them up a bit with crystals and beads, the ribbon is Stampin' Up.
Here is a closer look at the chipboard frame. I have been hoarding this piece for a while, but I finally broke down and used it. I love this piece and I may have to go buy another one!  The journal spot is October Afternoon.

I am linking up at the following challenges:
Divas By Design - Girlie
4 Crafty Chicks - pearls (I used pearl pins)
Pile It On  - Hearts
Get Creative - Sketch

Snapshots - Christmas 2009

Three blog posts in one day - surely the earth will stop spinning. :)
I am trying to catch up. With all the Holiday activities going on I am behind!

It is Tuesday so of course there is a new palette up at ColourQ and
it is perfect for your Christmas projects.
I recently discovered that I had not made any layouts of Christmas photos.
I have made a few mini albums - no layouts. Mmmmmm,,,,,
So I am playing catch-up there too.
I am trying to make my pages a little less 3 dimensional - I realized that I could fit very few into my albums they were so thick!
I have used Core'dinations, Bazzill, and I think the PP is from Paper Heart - but it so old I can't swear to it! Teresa Collins, Prima, Basic Grey, Melissa Francis, and MME embellishments.
I used Viva Decor Paper Pen for the pearl dots in the corners, and the paper doily is from the craft store.
This was the last Christmas that my Grandmother was able to have Christmas at home - so it was very special to us.

Here is the fabulous palette we are using this week
Super cute, yes?? Be sure to stop by the blog and check out the fabulous
projects the DT has on display. You have until Sunday noon to link up your project.

I am linking up at the following challenges:
The Pink elephant - Stitching, Large Title, Green

thank so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful week

Really?? Bad Hair Decisions!

So,, I am pretty sure I posted this a while back, but I was looking for it
and couldn't find it. So maybe I didn't. Or maybe blogger ate it.
Maybe it was kidnapped and is being held ransom by trolls.
Who knows. In any event - here it is again!

So my DD2 sends me these pics from college one day.
My response? - REALLY?
Zebra hair?
Papers are Pink Paislee, ribbons are from my stash, flowers are from the craft store.
I do not remember who made these chippies - Dusty Attic maybe? I painted them with Inka-Gold using multiple colors, then heat embossed with Enamelz from Shimmerz Paints.
The journal cards were embossed with my CB, then I rubbed a little VersaMark on it and used more Enamelz on it.

thanks for stopping by today!

JOY Christmas Banner

How was your weekend blogging friends???
Did you get any great bargains while you were out
shopping? Or did you avoid the crowds all together and stay home?
I went out to one store and picked up a couple of things I wanted at
a great price. My sweet hubby is giving them to me for
Christmas :o)

Today I have a great Christmas banner I made for the house,
but my DD1 stole it for her office! I used a Maya Road coaster
album as the base and added lots of other stuff,,,
Sorry this photo is a little out of focus,, my DSLR was in the shop and I had to use my point and shoot for these photos :(   The close ups are much better!
So,, I used the Snowflake Coaster album from Maya Road. For this piece I made a ruffle from vintage sheet music for behind the chipboard, and added a stack of flowers.
This one has a rosette made with a Tim Holtz die, pearls, twine and a jewelry charm.
Lots of glitter, another jewelry charm, acrylic snowflake and
chipboard heart adorn this center snowflake.
Another rosette, pearls, twine, and lace for this one.
The last one is a pretty close cousin of the first one.
I added LOTS of ribbons to finish it off.

This project was made for a DT call,,(which I am super happy to say I was picked for!!), and
I will have a tutorial on all the details soon.

I am linking up to the following challenges:
City Crafter Challenges Blog - I'll Be Home For Christmas
Diva's By Design - use two patterned papers

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you have a great Thanksgiving
and have a wonderful weekend!

Sketchabilities Design Team

Howdy everyone! I hope you are having the same great weather that we
are having here in North Texas! The windows are open , the fans are going and
it is wonderful and cool!

Today it is time for my first assignment at Sketchabilities and the
reveal of the new Design Team!!
I have used Pink Paisley papers, Bazzill cardstock, Viva Decor Glitter and Pearl Pens,
Tsukineko inks, Leaky Shed Studios chipboard pieces, some craft supply items,
American Crafts ribbon, bling, MS and EK Success punches, and my sewing machine.
I heat embossed the bottom piece of chipboard, and the snowflake I used
a Glitter Pen from Viva Decor.
For this chippie I alternated Pearl Pens and Glitter Pen. For the ribbon pennant I
glued ribbon to a piece of cardstock then cut it to shape.

Here is the sketch we are working with this time around
I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and instead of 4 small photos I used
2 long photos.

Be sure to hop over to the blog to play along with us - you have
until September 28th to get your sketch linked up!

Have a great weekend.

and journal spots from Maya Road.

Dancing in the Rain Altered Canvas

This canvas is for my DD2 - it is her favorite quote.
She wanted me to buy her a picture frame with a printed version
of it in the store the other day for $50-!!!
I told her no way, I would make her a way better looking one
for way less than $50.

Sooooo, off to the craft store I went for canvas.
Note to self. Take a square with me next time to make sure that
the canvas is really square. This one is not.

This canvas is 1/2" shorter on the right side than the left. :o(
I started with gesso on the whole thing, then came papers, which I inked.
after those were dry I used a stencil to paint the background. I used 3 shades of paint
to vary the way light reflected off of it.
Next I used bubble wrap to add metallic color in random places, then white paint with the bubble wrap.
I used spray inks in progressively darker colors to bring out the metallic colors, spraying really heavy in some places and letting it run down the canvas.
I added bling, some butterflies, and accents with a white paint pen. Lastly, I added piles of crystal beads layered with crushed glass and glitter.

Supplies used:
Heidi Swapp papers, Tattered Angels, paints, gesso, Queen and Co blings,
Bazzill black cardstock, Modge Podge, crystal beads, crushed glass, fairy glitter,
Glue Dots and Glue Lines, Melissa Frances Trim.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Be sure to check in over the weekend. If the sun peeks out so I can get some photos
I am going to post the fabulous Texas album I finished up recently.

Paco Kitty- ColourQ #151

Howdy Bloggers!
Wow - it is only 78 degrees here in Dallas today.
A high temp of only 78 degrees.
In August. In Dallas.
Unheard of!

Today I have my DT project for ColourQ and the fall colors were gret
but I wanted to use them in a non-traditional way. I really wanted to play up
the blue so that the layout looked more summery than fall.

Look at my pretty kitty! Isn't he sweet????
I used Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor, Prima, Viva Decors Modellier Creme
some bling, the stick pins I made myself, and the ruffled paper is from a sheet
of KaiserCraft paper. I also used Glue dots (3-D, Craft and Glue lines), Quick Quotes Powder Puff
inks, my sewing machine and Tattered Angels ink.

I love to make my own stick pins and if you want to learn
how to do it I have a great tutorial HERE on my blog. Super easy.

I used a Crafters Workshop Stencil and Viva Decor's Modellier Paste to make this
awesome background.
I cut the edge from a die cut KaiserCraft sheet, sprayed it with ink and
scrunched it up to make the ruffle.

Here is the fabulous palette from ColourQ - be sure to join in the fun.
You have until noon on Sunday to link up your project over at the blog.

I am also linking up at the following challenges:
Catered Crop - Distress(the center doily and the ruffle)
Quick Quotes - Handmade Embellishment  (stick pins)

Halloween Babies

Good Monday afternoon my blogging friends!
Did you have a great weekend? It was pretty nice here,
my Mom's birthday, and some relaxing time. Nice.

I have been waiting since last week to tell the news,
I am on the new DT at Sketchabilities !! So happy about that, and there
are some familiar faces on the team to work with too.

Today I have a layout I made with the sensational prize pack I got from
Two Peas in A Bucket - it has a whole pack of papers from Echo Park, one
of my favorites, so out came the Halloween photos.

Chillingsworth Manor papers & die cut stickers from Echo Park, Prima, Viva Decor, Leaky Shed Studios, WOW Embossing Powders, Maya Mist, doilys, Tim Holtz die, Queen & Co pearls, Glue Dots, Scotch ATG, and some random things from my stash.
I layered strips of the paper behind the photo, and sewed a few of them down.
I added some sparkle to the circles with Viva Decor's Glitter pen.
Here I used Viva Decor's Pearl Pen, drew out a design, let it set for a couple of minutes, then drew the color out with my paintbrush. The flower is made with a Tim Holtz die, and the brad is Cosmo Cricut.
The chipboard is from LEaky Shed Studios, and I have heat embossed it with two colors of WOW embossing powders, then added some Shimmerz on top.

Sad to say, this is the only photo of my cuties from that year, I lost an entire rubbermade bucket of photos in a military move years ago, and most of my DD's baby and early year photos were lost :o( Of course, this was way before the digital age!

I used the sketch from Sketches In Thyme for this
I flipped it 90 degrees to fit my photo.

A Love Beyond Measure

Yee Hawww -- It is Friday Ya'll!!!

Thank goodness. Too bad it is 106 degrees here in Dallas :o(
That is hot!! But not as hot as when I loved in Yuma, AZ!
And before someone says it, no - it is not a dry heat in Yuma!
Yuma sits right on the Colorado river! It is hot and humid there!!!
My layout today is made using fabulous supplies I got from The Crafty Scrapper
in Waxahachie. The best scrapbook store in North Texas! If you are
anywhere near you should stop by and see the girls.
Sooooo many great things to buy there!!

I made this layout for the Fabulous Friday Challenge over at Frosted Designs - the challenge
this week is to use patterned paper only.
So,,, does everyone see my cardstock????? Yep,. as soon as I was done, I realized I
had used cardstock as the background!!  (sigh) Such is life.
I have used 7 Gypsies paper from the new Trousseau collection - really great colors!
I love these little chipboard plaques from Maya Road. They make the best bases for titles on my layouts!

I just picked up this chippie from Dusty Attic yesterday - love it!!

This chippie fairy is from Petaloo and I painted it with Viva decor and used
Ranger Crackle and glitter to dress it up.

I used the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy which was perfect for that chipboard I was
jonesing to use!

I am also linking up at the following challenges:
Southern Girls Challenges - Angels / Fantasy - my little fairy
Bird Is The Word - "Beyond"
Catered Crop  - Ruffles

And be sure to hop over to Frosted Designs to see all the yummy goodness the DT
