If you arrived here from the ADORNit blog, you are on the right track, if not you might want to hop back to the beginning and start again.
These papers are so amazing- they are nice and thick, so they hold up to lots of mediums well. You really need some, like now!
I made several projects with the fabulous supplies I received but I am thinking my favorite is this amazing little Art Journal. I wanted something small, that I could color in as the mood struck me, would be pretty mobile, and easy to play with. This little book fits the bill! I can work on it as the mood strikes me, and finish it as I go along. I hope you like it!
I used papers from the Blender Basics for the entire album- I picked some colors that make me happy and worked from there.
I assembled the album a little different than the directions call for- you know I gotta be different!
I really wanted some texture for the cover- really a lot of texture- so I used the Flourishes Wood Shapes to cover the entire front. I inked the shapes, then used white paint to highlight them.
I added some silver pearls and chipboard title to the front to finish it off. LOVE the look and the texture I ended up with!
I picked several of my favorite 3x4 images from the Art Play sheets and trimmed them out loosely following the outlines. Since I want to be able to take my time to color them in, I used some mini paper clips to hold them in place in the book until I am ready to glue them in place.
To finish off the spine I stamped a pattern with a coordinating ink, then one it was assembled I wrapped Maya Road twine around it several times, then tied a very big bow. I am all about the bows, ya know! I added some bling from my stash.
My clue for the hop is "R". Be sure to collect all the clues along the hop for your chance to win!

ReplyDeleteI totally love your mini book! The rainbow colored patterned papers are the perfect background for the art play paintable imagery. The collaged chipboard on the cover is a fabulous idea for adding interest and texture - I'm going to give that technique a try! :)
