Best Craft Room Organization using Deflecto

This post may contain affiliate links.

It is no secret that I love to have my supplies organized. I simply cannot craft when my room is messy! With the New Year I like to take a look at my studio and see what needs a little update and re-do. So today I want to share my very best craft room organization tips using amazing Deflecto products.

I use lots of different medias when creating my scrapbook pages and other projects. This bin was clearly not the best way to keep everything in order! It was a huge mess that took me forever to find what I wanted.

The tilt out bins are amazing for keeping your supplies organized but also having everything clearly visible and easily within reach - which is super important to keep track of your stuff. The bins can easily be removed to take to your work surface - and then slip right back in  when you are done. On this set of bins I removed several of the actual bins to better store my paints. They fit perfectly 9 to an opening and I can see in an instant which color I want.  To see more about this project go here.

For years I had a variety of  buckets and bins on my desk to hold small supplies. It drove me nuts and I finally found a great way to keep everything in it's place. The Rotating Organizer is the perfect solution for me

I removed the tops from the bins for easy access. I was able to put SO MANY different supplies in them and eliminate all the oddball buckets on my desk. The best thing- it SPINS! So I can just move it around to get what I want. To see more on how I used the Rotating Organizer go here.

Do you use lots of punches? I sure do and there are a few that I use on every project it seems. The Stackable Cube Organizer is my solution to keep my most used punches close at hand.  To see how I decorated this cute cube go here.

The Stackable Cube Organizers are so incredibly handy- I use them in so many ways. The 4 Drawer Cube Organizer is perfect for holding smaller pieces (and washi tape!) To see more on this project go here.

Did I mention how handy these cubes were??? Markers store in the X cube - this is the entire set of Tombow Dual Brush markers in ONE PLACE!

Speaking of marker storage,,,,, the Stackable Caddy is my favorite! Amazing storage and it's portable!!  The Marker Storage Inserts easily pull out and sit on your work surface when needed.
To see more on the caddy go here.

Every desk needs something pretty and functional. The Pencil Cup with Photo Frames can be decorated anyway you want. I made this fun project for my DD1 and it looks lovely on her work desk. To see the details on this project go here.

You can find Deflecto products on Amazon, Scrapbook dot com, and at your local craft stores. Happy New Year and happy organizing!

New Storage Ideas with Deflecto

Good morning everyone, I hope you are having a great week so far.

You know I love to organize, right? Well I recently received some amazing products
from Deflecto Craft Solutions to add to my studio and have worked a few of them into my space.
I am so loving these versatile little items!

So,, just a couple of weeks ago I was lamenting the fact that I did not have a really good way to store my new set of Tombow markers.  Ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom, I open my happy mail and there is the most perfect
Stackable Cube Organizer X Divider right on top! This thing is perfect, because with the divider I can sort my markers into color groups, and even when I carry the bin around they stay in an upright position. LOVE IT.

To the right of the markers is the Stackable Cube- which is just the open cube and
I like the fact that I can put larger items in it. Very handy for holding my Xyron sticker makers
and getting them off my desk.

To the left of the markers is the Stackable Cube Organizer 4 Drawer and this thing is so
cute it is ridiculous. Really.
I had a hard time deciding what I want to use this for, and I finally settle on washi tape collection.
I see more of these in my future!

All of the Stackable Cubes clip together on the side so they will stay in place (you can see the clip
in the photo above just to the right of the open drawer).

Be sure to check out the Deflecto Crafts Facebook page for more of their fabulous products.

I have more fabulous goodies to share with you later this month!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craft Storage Ideas- Clear Stamp Storage

Hi everyone, it's my turn to offer a storage tip over at Craft Storage Ideas and today I want to talk about storing all those unmounted stamps that come on the clear sheets. Are you like me and you have hundreds of them? I am so sad, I have sheets of them I have never even used one off the stamps from it! I am working on that though and using them one by one!!

I have wonderful storage cabinets in my studio that I got from a retail store when they retired. I wanted to be able to store my stamps in the cubbies in those cabinets, but I couldn't find anything that would fit my needs. Sooo,, I called my wonderful friend who can build anything - and works for cake- and told him what I needed. Voila! Two weeks later I had a custom solution to my problem. I can store ALL of my stamps in a little bitty space now and have super easy access to them!

Stamps1
Here is a look at my storage shelf with my stamp storage on it. I currently have 6 on here, but only 5 are in use. I have several more in the attic in case I go crazy buying more stamps!

Stamps2

They are sized to hold an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet protector. A lot of my stamps came on plastic sheets that were this size so I was able to slide them right in and put the page protector on the rings. For those that were a different size I bought a package of 8 1/2 X 11 craft plastic at the craft store and used Glue Dots® to stick the stamps on. This was I could display more than one small stamp set in a page protector like the ones below.

Stamps4

I can get about 10-12 page protectors onto each holder depending on the brand of stamps. I have them sorted by theme so I can just grab a holder a flip through to find the stamps I want. Easy peasy.

They are only 3" wide across the bottom so I can fit a lot of storage into a small space- AND it fit into the fixtures I already had- exactly what I was looking for.

And, yes, I do have a serious Prima addiction. I am maintaining a Prima Breeding Program in my Scrap Studio - if they ever stop making Prima's I want to have enough of them to breed in captivity ;)

Prima Addiction

That's it for me today but be sure to hop over to the Craft Storage Ideas blog
to check it out. There is always something new going on there!

May the Flamingos be with you!

Brad and Ribbon Storage

Howdy everyone, are you ready to get your craft space organized? Well my friends, we are here to help you! If you are like me, you are invested with a sense of renewal after the holidays and want to make everything around you nice and tidy. Today I want to share some of my favorite storage supplies and ideas for brads and ribbons.

I have serious issues with both of these craft supplies. Serious issues. When we first built my studio I ordered a custom built cabinet just for my brads. I am not making that up.

I loved this cabinet, but it turned out that it was just too large to fit into my space. When I rearranged my room I had to move it out, which made me very sad. I trimmed down my brad collection considerably and bought this very handy storage box from Best Craft Organizer and it is just as handy, but a lot smaller. It has 8 drawers and they are the perfect size for holding my brad jars.

The little jars are from the jewelry department - they come 24 in a little clear box for around $10. As you can see I group my brads by color, so I can just pull out the drawer and there are all the brads in that color group.

Sooo, once I got my brads tamed, I needed to move onto my ribbon. I had drawers and boxes of ribbon. I tried that system where you rolled the ribbon up and put it in the little boxes so that you could pull out a little at a time, but I was not very successful at that. My ribbons are not uniform in size, so they never fit in the little boxes. So I had some in and some out. I ran across a fabulous product at the LSS one day call The Ribbon Ring - I have been in love with this thing ever since. I bought one. A week after it came I ordered 6 more, plus I don't remember how many refill kits.

A set comes with a ring and the little plastic tabs you see here. You thread your ribbon onto the tabs and put those on the ring. Super easy. Again, I have mine sorted by color - I ring per color.

This photo only shows half of mine - as I said I have issues with ribbon. There are several things I love about this product:
  • portability - just grab the rings, toss them into your bag and go
  • viability - I can see in one glance every single ribbon I have, so I will use them
  • space saver - I have hundreds of ribbons stored in a few inches of space
  • but best of all,, when I am working on a project I can grab my ring, throw it on the table and drape the ribbons across my project to see which one works the best before I take it off the spool/out of the little box/unpin it and have to rewind it. Best feature I swear.

They come with little orange dot stickers that you can add to the tabs to remind yourself that you have more of that ribbon. I decided it was easier to just tie a knot in one end to remind me there was more in my overstock bucket.

So there you have it - my brads and ribbons, contained very neatly within their space, organized by color and so easy to reach for and use. What are your plans for organizing your space this year? Be sure to stay with us all month at Craft Storage Ideas as we have more fabulous ideas coming.

Anita
Hello every one, today I am here with my post for Craft Storage Ideas and I am going to share with you a fabulous studio and you will just drool when you see it. Katie Tate from Both Sides of The Paper has an amazingly organized and well thought out space to work and play in. Katie lives just up the road from me,, I am going to have to get up there to see her space in person pretty soon. I may never leave once I get there! Here are some of my favorite spots in her room;

Katie says:    Here is my wonderful desk! The work surface is a full 4' by 5', lots of space to spread out. The island is made of Jetmax cubes that are raised up on my plinth that my lovely husband made from wooden and base board molding. The top is a piece of MDF trimmed with wooden beading and then painted white to match. The front side holds all my 12" by 12" cardstock and my paper stacks and other designer paper. (Below) On this side are small drawers that hold my wooden dies, Sizzix dies and Big Shot dies.

Did someone say punches???? Take a look at this!!

Here is my wall of punches. These are all "old style" pre Martha Stewart. I have been a "Punch addict" since I started paper crafting and so have gathered a big collection. Sadly these tend to get a little neglected in favor of the newer styles but some, such as circles, squares, tags etc, will always be used.

Martha! I use can risers to store the punches as it makes a little space work really well. I got mine at Target but I know the container store sells them too in the pantry section.

This is my Expedit and it holds (going from top to bottom) my rubber stamps, my color cubes, Christmas products and then my acrylic stamps.

There are lots more photos and a video of Katie's studio so be sure to stop by and take a look. You will be amazed at what you see.
Good morning blogging buddies!
This morning I have my post for Craft Storage Ideas and
my mission was to hunt up a great craft space to share. I did not
have to look very far to find my friend  Teresa Jaye and her wonderful craft space.

I love to look at craft spaces. More like drool, but you get my meaning. A well organized space is wonderful to work in, lovely to look at, and, for me at least, a something that makes my heart go pitter patter.

I am quite the organizer. Or OCD if you listen to my husband. I once moved my bed 1/2" so that it would line up with the nap on our Berber carpet. Sad but true. So an organized craft space is a must!

My friend Teresa Jaye has a lovely space. She even decorated hers - something I will admit I don't do. She has made her space fit her needs, dividing it up into zones according to how she works. There is an abundance of natural light supplemented by well placed artificial light for crafting at any time. I really like how flexible her furniture is, she will be able to rearrange it all if her needs - or her mood!- change. Here's a peek,

Please stop by and take a look at her wonderful studio I am sure will take away some ideas of your own.

Craft Space Blog Hop

Welcome to the Frosted Designs Craft Space Blog Hop!
If you have arrived from Teresa Jaye's Blog you are on the right track.
If not, you might want to start over at the beginning to make sure you see all
the craft space goodness!

So here is a look at my craft space! I am very lucky to have my own room,
outfitted exactly like I want it. I ripped all the flooring out and I have bare cement floors.
I didn't want to worry about what I might get on it. And let me tell you, I
have dumped some things on it!
And let me say thank you so much, to my wonderful hubby, who lets me buy and do
whatever I want. Love you honey!

When you walk in the door this is what you see...

,,,,,my work table, it is an antique trestle table I bought for next to nothing a few years ago.
I have my little rolly cart with all my most used tools on/in it. The rods across the windows are Ikea curtain rods and S-hooks. I keep all the embellies that I reach for the most on those. My sewing machine is to the left on an Ikea drawer unit.

Next up is my Ribbon Ring - this was the best organizational tool I ever bought.
It was worth every cent and then some. I love it.

My desk has my laptop, printer, photo printer, album in progress and a few misc things.

Yes. I did paint all the walls, back when this was DD2's bedroom when we first moved
in the house. There are murals all the way around the room.

Here I have stacked my Iris carts next to some cubicle shelving I have. In the Iris drawers, I
sort things I am collecting for future projects. One drawer is all Texas stuff, one drawer is
all my DD's High School stuff, one is all the cards my DH has ever given me, etc.

Above the closet is my collection of House Mouse stamps. I don't actually
stamp with my House Mouse stamps, I just collect them. Aren't they toooo cute????
Shelves from Ikea (I am telling you - Ikea is the Mother Ship)

This is my wall of shelves. I keep all my lesser used supplies here. These were stamp shelves in a retail store in their previous life. When the company decided to get rid of them, they came home with me. They are so happy here in their retirement years. No obnoxious children hanging or climbing on them!

This is the newest addition to the room - I wanted something to keep my Cinch
out on - I use it all the time. So off to Ikea I went. This little thing was so cheap.
And very sturdy. Right now it has some things I got at convention on it, but it will
have some baskets on the shelves to hold my Cinch supplies very soon.

So this is my happy place - my PRIMA BREEDING PROGRAM. Someday, the world
might run out of Prima flowers. If that ever happens, I plan on having enough of them
in captivity to start breeding my own.

I get TONS of questions about these bins! They are made by Deflecto and you can get
them here. These are some my favorite storage pieces.

Here is my paper storage, another shelf just like the ones in the closet. It had a former
life in a retail store as well. It is perfect for storing my paper in!

I love, love, love my Alex drawer units from Ikea. There are three of them here, sitting
so happily side by side. They come with casters, but I wanted a little more height for
mine, so I took the casters off and put cinder blocks under them instead. They are the
perfect height now, I just turn my chair around and there they are!
I get a ton of questions on these drawers - the Ikea item number is 401.962.41 and
you can find them HERE

I keep tons of things in the drawers, my most used stamps, my inks, die cutting supplies, embellishments, button jars, all my paints and sprays, my punches,,, so many things.

Last, but not least, is by brad storage. I have issues with brads and buttons. I love this little cube,
I bought it from Best Scrapbook Shelf, and it is wonderful to store my brads in. It holds
HUNDREDS of different little containers of brads.

So that is it! My scrappy space.
I hope you have enjoyed a look around my studio.

I would love it if you would hope over to my Facebook Page and like me - you can never
have too many friends, right:? I will look you up straight away too.
