Valentine Table Decor with Deflecto

I am back from CHA and I had a great time again this year! So many fun things to share with you over the next couple of weeks. 

Great new products and techniques.

Lots of new trends to share.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you the Make N Take I did over in Eileen Hull's Paper Trail Booth. I have some cute photos of her vintage trailer and the whole booth I will share in another post. 

I felt famous y'all when I got to the booth and people were waiting for me in line to do the MNT. Seriously. Famous. 

I used the new 4x6 Magnetic Frame from Deflecto® and it is awesome y'all - it is curved and it uses magnets to keep the front and back together. But you can just pop it apart and change out the inside, then pop it back together. No kidding - this thing is cool!

See the little silver things in the corners?? MAGNETS - for real. Easiest frame in history. 

I used Little B dies for this project and they are so cute! The flowers, the leaves, the arrows - all from Little B. Thanks to Therm O Web for providing the amazing Sticky Dots for this project. They make it so easy to adhere die cuts like these! 

Precious Memories Baby Album with Deflecto

Howdy everyone! Today I want to share a new product from Deflecto Craft Solutions with you. 

In my box this month I received a package of 5x7 Flexible Pouches and I knew right away that I was going to use my Cinch and make a mini album with them.

 Thank you Marilyn for the photo- I totally forgot to take one before I started creating!

I used some new Graphic 45 papers for this project along with a few items from my stash. I made the covers using book board that I cut to size.

 I love the weight of these, they are super sturdy for my photos, but I was still able to punch 3 at a time for my album.

I used Blue Fern Studios and Dusty Attic chipboard, Melissa Frances rhinestone pin, Offray ribbon roses, Petaloo flowers, and May Arts ribbon to embellish the front of the cover.

I created some bead charms for the spine of my album using beads and findings Connie Crystal. I love the touch of bling this adds and it looks like I spent so much time, when it was so quick!

Here is a look at my project this month!

I have used the Seasonal Trees #680 for my layout. I love how flexible this stamp set is!!  My papers are Graphic 45 from the new Home Sweet Home collection. 

 I stamped and heat embossed the image using Cappuccino EP and then colored the trunk with Tombow Markers. For the leaves, I layered two different colors of ink and then trimmed it out. 

I also used the Journal Mixed Media #606 for this layout - both on the chipboard above and on the cream cardstock behind my photos.  I used Moss EP to give the chipboard pieces some extra texture. The cute little bits on top of the chipboard are from Maya Road. 

I added a bit of stitching to the center of my layout for some visual interest. The Alpha stickers are from Carta Bella.

Valentine Decor with Smoothfoam

Hi everyone, today I have a great project to share with you using Smoothfoam. This year I am trying to stay ahead of the game with my holiday decor- so I am pretty happy that I am getting my Valentine Day stuff done in January!

I started with the 12" Smoothfoam Scrapbook Page Mount and used the new Authentique Crush papers to decorate. I layered several pieces of paper, inking and distressing the layers as I went.

The photo is one of the journal cards from the paper line- I really like the vintage feel!  To back the photo I used a piece of Perforated Aluminum from MD Hobby and Craft- the pattern is Lincane. I cut it to size with their amazing tin snips - really those things are GREAT.

I used the same pattern to create an accent piece using a Sizzix die and my die cut machine. I love the visual impact it adds to my project without adding bulk!

Visions of Sugar Plums Daily December Journal

Hi everyone, it is almost that time of year again and I hope you are ready to start recording your December memories. Yesterday I taught my annual workshop for the Daily December Journal at The Crafty Scrapper- I think this was my favorite one so far!

I used the new Graphic 45 'Twas the Night Before Christmas paper line to decorate a Maya Road 8x8 Chipboard album. I really wanted the cover to shine- I have had this idea percolating in mind for a while and I am really happy with how it turned out.

I used Wendy Vechhi's Embossing Paste to create my texture, added some bling, and other embellishments.  Of course, I always add a lot of sparkly things hanging from the spine- some cute ornaments, a Santa jingle bell, beads and pearls, and some ribbons.

Some Maya Road pins and twine, a little bit of glitter and a journal card from the matching embellishments round out the cover.

I always like to add unexpected pages in my albums and for this one I used some fabulous glassine envelopes I had to create pages on the front and back, and added a large tag inside.

For these pages I used a sheet of watercolor paper and folded it into sections to create pockets and flaps.

I also used a large Kraft envelope to add a tag in the center and pages on both sides.

We had a great time at the workshop yesterday - but I was so busy I forgot to take photos! This class was sold out- there are not even any kits left. This paper line is available in the store- so if you would like to create something along these lines be sure to pick some up before it is all gone!

Visions of Sugar Plums December Journal

Hi everyone, it is Friday! 

Yippee!!

It has been a long and stressful week and I am glad the weekend is here

at last. I did manage to get some crafting time in and I wanted to share 

some sneak peeks of one of my upcoming classes

at The Crafty Scrapper.

For the past several years I have made a December Journal, or December Daily,

for one of my Christmas Classes and this year is no exception.

I am pretty excited about this new album, I put a lot of techniques in this

album and we are going to have a great time at class!

For the album itself we will be using a Maya Road 8x8 chipboard album and altering it

using stencil, molding paste, and spray inks. I didn't add many decorations to the 

cover because I really wanted the texture of the cover to show through. 

I added a lot of hangy things to the spine including some handmade items and some

strung beads.

Inside the album I have used the new Graphic 45 'Twas The Night Before Christmas

line of papers and embellishments. I have used lots of pockets, 

tags, fold outs, envelopes and other spaces to hold all of your Christmas

memories and tidbits. 

This class will be held on November 16th, at 1:00pm

(this is a Sunday) and will have a limit of 15 students only.

Registration will be open this coming week and you can register

online or by calling the store.

Dream - Sparkle N Sprinkle and Cranberry ramblings

Good morning fellow bloggers!
Who can believe that we are only a couple of weeks away from
Thanksgiving??? Not me for sure. I have not even
bought a Turkey!! I need to get on that.
And some cranberries. I need some cranberries. I checked my freezer and
I am down to one lonely bag of cranberries.
I LOVE CRANBERRIES. 
I eat them all year long. Muffins, Tarts. Scones. mmmmmm, cranberries.
So I always buy a whole case of them in the fall and
freeze them. Does anyone want a fabulous recipe for cranberry
sauce? Not the jelly stuff, but wonderful whole
cranberries with orange? Here you go;

The best Cranberry Sauce ever, I promise
1 lb fresh cranberries

1 fresh orange
1 cup sugar

Wash the cranberries and pick out any bad ones.
Peel the orange, then separate the sections. You want to cut the little pieces
of membrane off each section as best you can.
Chop the orange sections and put them along with any juice in a medium
sized heavy pan. Add the berries and the sugar.
Put over medium heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Turn the heat up to med high, keep cooking until the whole thing
starts to boil and the berries pop open. Boil for 1-2 more minutes, stirring.
You don't need every berry to pop open, so don't stress over it!
I let it cool a few minutes in the pan, then pour it into my serving dish.
It will thicken up as it cools down.Keep it in the fridge.
This is also great poured over brie or creamed cheese.
It will keep for WEEKS in a glass jar in the fridge. Just saying.

My paper is Graphic 45, I used Flourishes Two stamp set for my background stamping around the photo.

To get the lovely layer of sparkle around my photo I applied 1/2" Tear-ific-Tape to my mat, then burnished it with Moon Rise Tinsel Glitter. For the flowers I applied 2 1/2" Tear-ific-Tape to my cardstock then cut with a Sizzix die. I applied different glitters for the top and bottom layers.

For the lattice piece here and the title, I die cut Sticker paper using my Cricut E2, removed the paper backing and applied my glitter. The chipboard stars were heat embossed with Velvet Sparkle EP.

Here is a closer look at the stamping. I used VersaMark and EP then heat embossed. The butterfly was made using the same technique as the flowers.
