Creating With Joy Letters

I am so happy to say that I am Creating with

Joy S.A. Embroidered Letters & Appliques for Wearables & Home Decor that is!

Joy S.A. is sponsoring a blog hop with Designer Crafts Connections so be sure to check out all the amazing projects from the other designers. Use the arrows beneath the logo in my sidebar to the right to navigate the web ring.

I was so happy to be given this opportunity and equally happy to be working with such a wonderfully talented group of ladies. Here is my first project.

Back at CHA (Craft Hobby Association) Super Show in January I was so lucky to get in on a wonderful traveling Make N Take on opening day sponsored by American Crafts, Heidi Swapp, Bazzill Basics Paper, and a few other marvelous companies. I was given this canvas album, complete with page inserts, and lots of embellies to decorate it. It has been sitting on my shelf mocking me since then because I have not been able to decide what to do with it.

As soon as I received my letters from Joy this album came to mind. Perfect for the Princess, yes? The album came with the silver star on the front. Who doesn't need more silver sequins in their lives? It is a little hard to see but I gave the background on the left side a spray of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold for a little contrast on the canvas.

To dye my letters, which came a bright white, I used ColorBox Spritzers Ink diluted with a little water. I mixed the ink/water on my craft mat and pushed the letters around in the solution for a bit, then dried with my heat gun.
The super cute little stars are also from Joy and dyed using the same technique. I added ribbon from Decorative Trimmings and Maya Road, a few flowers, and buttons from Buttons Galore and More.

Don't forget to hop through the Designer Crafts Connections Web Ring and be sure to check out the Joy S.A. web page here to see all of their amazing products.

Scrap Our Stash and Frosted Designs

Hi blogging buddies!

Woohoo,, it is the weekend!
Today Frosted Designs is sponsoring the challenge at
Scrap Our Stash blog. We have a very fun sketch with a twist for you
to play along with:
use heart PP, and at least one each prepackaged
heart and arrow embellishment.

Here is a look at my layout
I have used the new MME Valentine line, Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold,
Technique Tuesday chipboards, and Maya Road alphas.

I fussy cut the 3 hearts on the left
from one sheet of heart patterned paper.

For my prepackaged heart I am using the
two large chipboard hearts from Technique Tuesday. I covered them with papers
from the same line. I also added some die cut stickers.

Here is the sketch we are working with from Scrap Our Stash
You must also use 1 Heart PP, and at least one each prepackaged
Heart and Arrow embellie.

Be sure to hop over to the blog and see all the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Frosted Designs and Vintage Teresa Collins

Hi everyone- I dearly hope that where  ever you are
you are sunny and WARM.

I am hoping that my toes will thaw about before summer.
Just sayin'.

Ok, so today I have a new layout to share with you using some fabulous
stuff from Frosted Designs!!

My project today is made mostly with the Love Is In The Air Kit, with a little bit of
other stuff from the store thrown in for good measure!

I have made 3 projects with this kit, and I am pretty sure I am going to make one more!!
Be sure to hop over to the store and get yours today!

Soooo,, my DD1 was a SR Camp Counselor this one year,, and she
had a unit of 2nd graders,,,, and this was Thursday night of camp week,
and it rained, and these little girls LOVED her,,

and she was so over it!

I have used the Teresa Collins papers from the Love Is In The Air Kit, and added
a few more Teresa Collins pieces- let's call them vintage. Yeah, VINTAGE- that's what they are!
These Vintage papers are brought to you all the way from 2008 and the Journal It line!
The chipboards are Technique Tuesday.

I started with spray inks on the background, then used Molding Paste, a stencil and the
Ranger Distress  Glitter to make the background. I colored my chipboard heart with
Rose Metal Gelatos® and then added a little Heidi Swap Color Shine to it.

Flowers, Journal Card, and Alpha's are all from the kit. I used a black journal pen
to add a little detail to the journal card.

Die Cut stickers from the kit to add a little detail in the upper corner. I used my Gold Gelatos® to color the  chipboard piece around the outside edge; the white accent is made with a Stampers Big Brush Pen from Faber-Castell®. The inner piece of chipboard was painted. For the heart chippie, I painted the inner piece white, then stamped the little tiny hearts on it.

Look at my little cutie pie!

These little wood veneer arrows from Studio Calico are just too cute. I love to use
them for calling attention to something on a layout!

So there you have it! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week, and try to stay warm!!

Frosted Designs Mixed Media December Kit Reveal & Tutorial

Love, love , love the blues on the Christmas lines this year.
I used a LOT of spray ink on this layout- the doily was pretty much
soaked with the Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine.

I layered several die cuts next to my photo. For my background I used a stencil, Molding Paste, Gelatos® and glitter -there is a tutorial below.
Here is a close-up of the background. I wrapped this beautiful sparkly tulle around
my paper for more dimension. The wooden stars were sprayed with the Perfect Pearls Forever Red.

For my title I painted chipboard first with acrylic paint, then I sprayed with the Perfect Pearls Forever Red and the Gold Color Shine. It is a little hard to see the gold in the photo, but it is pretty visible in person!

For the flowers, I sprayed them with the Gold Color Shine first, then spread Frosted Lace Stickles
around the edges of the petals. The chipboard snowflakes were covered
with the Stickles and while wet I added some bling.

I used a gold paint pen on the edge of the paper that you see here. For the texture on top of the buttons, I mixed gloss gel, glitter, and beads and spread on top.
I added the Stickles in the corners of the papers.

I sprayed the tiniest, tiniest bit of Forever Red ink on the corner here.
Seriously, I held the paper like 2 feet from the sprayer and misted one time.
I just wanted a little blush of color there.

Tutorial:

For the background here are the steps:
I put a small amount of my Gelatos® on my paper and mixed with Molding Paste.
I spread this over my stencil and while the stencil was still in place,,,,,

I sprinkled my glitter on and pressed it into the paste.

Ta-da!  This is a super easy technique and you will love how it looks.

For the texture on top of the buttons, I mixed Gloss Gel, beads, and Diamond Dust Glitter together.

Put a piece of scrap paper over your photo and spread the mixture all over. I put mine on
pretty heavy, but you can always put less. Put it aside to dry overnight. In the morning I
gave it a spritz with the Gold Color Shine.
