Embossed Flower Tutorial using Gelatos® from Faber-Castell®

Hi everyone, how was your weekend???
Wonderful I hope!

Today I want to share a tutorial with you on some super fun and easy flowers
you can make. There are lots of ways to color these, but the easiest
and my favorite is by using Faber-Castell Gelatos®.
Here is a look at the layout I used the flowers on.
Love this paper from MME! I also used Want2Scrap bling and chipboard.

Begin by stamping and heat embossing your flowers and cutting
them out. I used Heartfelt Creations Open Vintage Floret
Precut Stamp set and Vintage Floret Die set.

I used 4 colors of my Faber-Castell® Gelatos® to color my flowers,

Teal Metal, Blue Metal, Aqua Dolce, and Spearmint. I applied the

Gelatos® directly to the flowers, blending them with a slightly

damp sponge.

I kept adding color in layers until I achieved
the depth that I wanted.

Next up is shaping the flowers - real flowers have curved petals
and do not lay flat - we want our flowers to look the same.
I rolled the edges back using my paper piercer and cupped
the centers using a ball tool.

Last step is to stack the petal layers together as desired,
pierce a hole in the center with your paper piercer,
and add a brad to anchor it all together!

Here are a few more close-ups of my layout.

For my title piece I covered the chipboard with Faber-Castell® Gesso mixed with some
Margarita Gelatos®. When dry I added more Gelatos® with a sponge, then added
some glitter for a little sparkle.

Princess Jade - Berry Bleu Guest Designer

Hi everyone! Are you ready for all the new releases at CHA????
I sure am, and I can't wait to get there to see them!!

I have a few things to do before I head out and today I am super happy
to be a Guest Designer with Berry71Bleu . Love the creativity and challenges
posted on the blog over there. If you have never stopped by, be sure to check it out!
This month the challenge theme is "Anything Goes"

Here is a look at my project
I am so in love with these papers from Splash of Color!! I also used Bazzill for my background, and embellies from MME & Want2Scrap.
I can't get enough of these cut chipboard titles from Want2Scrap. I am seriously
title challenged. Really. These are the best thing ever. I embossed with WOW powders.
I used my MS punch for the floral paper, the saying is cut from a Splash of Color sheet, and the journal
spot is a Creative Imaginations die cut sticker. You know you have had product too long when
the company changes their name!
The butterflies were fussy cut from one of the papers in the set.
Our sponsor this month over at Berry71Bleu is Heartfelt Creations.
Have you ever seen their stamps and dies??? Awesome products, let me tell you!
I first saw them YEARS ago at a stamp show and have loved them ever since.
I received the Open Vintage Floral Stamp Set along with the matching dies to work with.
I used matching paper from the Splash of Color line to stamp on, then heat emboss
with WOW Embossing powders. Cutting is a snap with the matching dies, then I
colored with Gelatos® from Faber-Castell, shaped and arranged. Easy peasy.

Be sure to check out their blog for lots of great inspiration!

That's it for me today.
I am off to CHA tonight, and I will be posting lots of fun stuff I find,
so be sure to check back all week!

Mom And Me Campout

Hi to all my blogging friends!
How is your summer so far?I am off to retreat day after
tomorrow so I am getting ready, I have got this
packing down to an art after all these years.
My totes are out of the attic and I am ready to go!

Today we have a new palette at ColourQ and I have my DT project
to share. The colors were not the easiest for me. I have been
wanting to challenge myself to work with a black background
so this is what I came up with,,,,,

I have another page from my Girl Scout Album that I have redone. The little cutie second
from the right, bottom row is mine. I have used:
Papers: Graphic 45, Bazzill / Embellies: Jenni Bowlin Studios, MME, Prima,
I Am Roses, Recollections, Basic Grey, Want2Scrap / Tools: Sizzix, EK Success /
Stamps: Wendy Vecchi / Ink: Tsukineko, Powder Puff by Quick Quotes, WOW Embossing Powder
I cut a LOT of strips from Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar to make the border
down the side of the page. Each one was inked, crumpled and glued in place.
The roses are from I Am Roses, of course!
The stick pin I made, you can find the tutorial here.

I am so loving these stamps from Wendi Vecchi!!!
The swirl and hearts are a Sizzix die, I used my PITT® Artist Pen in Medium Black to accent
the paper strip with faux stitching and for journaling.
I used a Prima mask and Tsukineko Glimmer Mist to color the background. The
chippie is from Want2Scrap and is embossed with WOW Embossing Powder.

Here is a look at our palette this week
What are you inspired to make??? You have until next Monday to link
up your project over on the ColourQ Blog so be sure to join in the fun!

I am linking up at the following challenges:
Quick Quotes: Dimension (inked paper strips)
Berry Bleu - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - Cute - because, seriously, how cute are those kids!
I Am Roses - use two products - two roses

Authentique Mini Book

Howdy blogging friends!
I had a great time at the stamp show today and picked
up some great stuff I can't wait to play around with.
I love when the stamp show comes to town!

Today I want to share a mini book that I am teaching as
a class at The Crafty Scrapper next month. I used the new
Authentique Lovely Collection Kit for the entire album.
Love this line of papers! Here are a few photos
I used bookboard for my covers and used my Cinch from WRMK to punch the holes and bind it. The heart shaped tin and the chipboard are from Maya Road. All the die cut stickers are from the Lovely Kit.

This little album is full of pages that flip and open and hide little pockets. There are a TON of photo mats because I generally put a lot of photos and journaling in my albums.

I used several pieces of the Maya Road chipboard through out. They are
all painted white and then heat embossed with WOW powders.

I used almost all of the die cuts in the kit - I was in love with them!
Lots of ribbon too.

The class is February 2nd at The Crafty Scrapper.
Check the website for more info and details.

I am entering this in the monthly color Challenge at Authentique.
If you would like to play along you have until Feb 13th to link up.

Thanks for stopping by today!
